The Advent season is in full swing at Roger Bacon High School, and its spirit was profoundly felt during the celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception at our all-school Mass on December 9th.
Br. Gene's historic nativity display was up for our school community to enjoy. In the 1880s, Franciscan friars purchased four nativity sets from Düsseldorf, Germany, for various parishes, including St. George in Cincinnati. When St. George Parish closed in 1993, its nativity set, in need of repair, was saved. Br. Gene, with the help of his mother, lovingly refurbished it in 1995, preserving its beauty and significance. During Advent, the nativity set resides in our Fine Arts Center, where it continues to be a cherished part of the Franciscan tradition.
