- Ray Butler '97 Named Dean of Students at Roger Bacon High School

Roger Bacon High School is excited to announce the hiring of Ray Butler '97 as the new Dean of Students starting in the 2023-24 school year. Butler brings two decades of experience in education, including 18 years as a social studies teacher and two years as Dean of Students at LaSalle High School.
“We are excited to have Ray come back home,” says future Principal Tim McCoy. “Ray has an incredible reputation in leadership and a wealth of experience in Catholic education. He will bring a strong presence to the building.”
As Dean of Students, Ray will be responsible for implementing all student management policies and procedures as delineated in the student handbook and ensuring that the Catholic mission and Franciscan vision of Roger Bacon High School are reflected in all procedures and decisions regarding the school. The Dean of Students is also responsible for assisting the Principal with daily operations of the school, including student affairs, culture, student and building management and safety.
“As a ‘97 grad, I am excited and honored to return to Roger Bacon as the Dean of Students. I can’t wait to help with the future growth and development of an institution that helped develop me as an individual,” says Butler.
Butler holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Ohio Wesleyan University. He will begin his role as Dean of Students at Roger Bacon High School on July 1st, 2023.
