Honors Celebrations Continues with More Scholarship Recipients!

Roger Bacon continues its celebration of student accomplishments today by awarding additional scholarships for student achievement.

Amanda Watkins Dunn was a member of the Roger Bacon Class of 1996 and a mother of three who lost her battle with cancer at the age of 38.

The Amanda Watkins Dunn Memorial Scholarship recognizes students that are involved in Roger Bacon and in the broader community and demonstrates the wonderful characteristics Amanda exemplified: good moral character, strong work ethic, high motivation, and a willingness to go above and beyond to help others.

Presented by her brother, Mr. Tommy Watkins, '98, the 2024 Amanda Watkins Dunn Memorial Scholarship recipients are Jonathan Rizzo, Torin Wolfe, Madelyn Sunderman & Kelsey Sander.


The Paul “Dutch” Schildmeyer Scholarship was established in memory of the great Dutch Schildmeyer,
Class of 1956, for his contributions to Roger Bacon, and to the Greater Catholic League (GCL), where he served as President for over 30 years.

This scholarship is awarded to one male and one female student-athlete based on academics, good character, and active involvement in Roger Bacon’s athletic programs.

The 2024 Paul “Dutch” Schildmeyer Scholarship is presented to Carlie Grosser & Nathan Weigand.


Established to promote the arts at Roger Bacon, The Clark Family Drama Scholarship is presented to one male and one female member of the Roger Bacon Drama Guild or Stage Crew who exhibit a passion and commitment to the drama program.

The 2024 Clark Family Drama Scholarship is awarded to Kayla Kilgore and Ray Huffman.


Angeline Uhrig
devoted 39 years of her life to the students of Our Lady of Angels and Roger Bacon High Schools. In addition to her contributions as a classroom teacher, Miss Uhrig served as the moderator of the newspaper and yearbook at OLA and directed plays at both OLA and Roger Bacon. The Angeline E. Uhrig Scholarship is presented to Junior students who, through five semesters, has maintained a fine academic record, is of good character, and is actively involved in the Troubadour yearbook, the Drama Guild, and/or Band.

The 2024 Angeline E. Uhrig Scholarship is presented to Maya Destazio and Raelynn Chesher.
