Ethics Bowl Team Competes in 3rd Annual High School Ethics Bowl

On January 25 and 26, Roger Bacon’s Ethics Bowl team competed in the 3rd annual High School Ethics Bowl. From last year, Roger Bacon grew from one team to 3 teams due a large number of freshmen who came out to join a number of returning sophomores.

On Saturday Team 1, comprised of Maggie McCormick '27, Makenna Stewart '27, Karis Stoxen '27, Joseph Zlatic '27, Mark Zlatic '27, Nathaniel Siciliano '27 and Elizabeth Strouble '27, went 2 and 2 with wins against Gamble Montessori and Shroder High School.

Team 2, comprised of Ada Fricke '28, Jamyah Mays Roddy '28, Magdalena Rucker '28, Abby Zimmerlee '28, and Rosemary Murphy '28 started out 0 and 1, but then turned it around with a big win against St. Ursula.

Team 3, comprised of Cheyanne Kendall '28, Markeesha Mincy '28, Maddy Zimmerlee '28, Kameron Griffin-Harris '28, Auggie Mandeville '28 and Clarissa Christman '27 went 2, 1 and 1. Team 3 had wins against Mt. Healthy and St. X and a closely contested tie against DePaul Christo Rey, leaving them just a little short of advancing to the Great 8 round.

All teams were exemplary in presenting their cases with many first time presenting members doing a fantastic job representing their team and Roger Bacon. As an overall young team, Ethics Bowl is already looking towards next year’s competition. The team's faculty moderator, Mr. Zlatic, made sure to add how proud he is of all the hard work and teamwork displayed by the team this year. Congratulations to the entire Ethics Bowl team on a great season!
