As the year comes to a close, we are showcasing the students who, through their hard work and dedication, are graduating at the top of their class.
Kelly Brenner is the Class of 2020 Salutatorian. Kelly has loved her experience at Roger Bacon, and she says the people here are what she will miss most. Kelly said, "I’ll miss all of the teachers that have helped me get this far and the amazing support system that RB had provided me with.Without them, I never would have been able to be as successful and confident as I am. I will also greatly miss the sports teams, both volleyball and basketball, that only added to the fun of my high school years."
Kelly looks forward to continuing her academic and athletic career at Thomas More. She immediately felt the same small-school, family atmosphere that she experiences at Roger Bacon. Kelly connected with the coaches right away, and she looks forward to playing basketball and getting to know new people next year. "I can’t wait to meet my team and form connections with them," Kelly said. "I’m also really looking forwarded to dorming with my friends and experiencing a change of scenery!"
Jacob Mumper is the Class of 2020 Valedictorian. Jake plans to attend Miami next fall because he has a family there, and he was impressed by the campus and excellent business school. Jake said, "I am looking forward to learning more about business, the world, and myself. I’m excited to meet new people and try new things and get an idea of what it’s like to be an adult. I’m excited about the uncertainty of my future because that means the possibilities are endless."
Jake has cherished his time at Roger Bacon. He will miss seeing so many familiar faces each day. "I’ll miss seeing my favorite teachers and coaches and teammates everyday. I’ll miss being at a place where everybody knows who I am, and a lot of them are looking out for me. I’ll miss driving to school everyday with my little sister." Though he knows there are things at RB he will miss next year, Jake looks forward to the many new opportunities to come!
