A first step to doing better is to do an honest self-assessment of what you are doing presently. How do I study now? How much time do I spend? Do I "fit it in" or do I schedule homework and study as a priority? Where do I study? These are all important questions that need answered.
Study is an essential part of homework that is often neglected. Students will often cram for tests and wonder why they were not successful. Daily study is a better choice. It is wise to study at the same time, same place, quiet and distraction free, each day. Study in one's bedroom may not be wise given the possible distractions (such as: phones, computers, televisions, CD players, and a bed).
The links below are resource pages that will provide some tips and strategies for improving. Begin with the self-assessment tools. Use the Learner's Schedule Planner to review how you spend your time in order to help you prioritize your goals and objectives. Regardless, it takes commitment, perseverance, and hard work.
