Miami University / University of Toledo College of Medicine
Julia Mumper, Class of 2018, didn’t begin her high school career at Roger Bacon, transferring to RB after her sophomore year, and she could not be happier with this decision.
“When I transferred to Roger Bacon as a junior, I had no idea how many amazing things were in store for me. During my time at RB, I was able to learn from the most passionate teachers, play sports with the best teammates, and build friendships that will last a lifetime. Participating in countless service opportunities allowed me to understand and empathize with those around me,” says Julia.
Julia was also quickly able to transition to Roger Bacon’s highest academic track, the Assisi Scholar Program, which set her up for success in college and beyond.
“I absolutely loved being in the Assisi Scholars program!! It was definitely challenging academically, but it prepared me extremely well for college. The trip to Assisi was AMAZING, and I was able to have a ton of fun and experience religion in a way that I never had before. It helped me to become a well-rounded human being with a strong desire to make the world a better place. Learning about each of our sixteen Franciscan values showed me how to live a life that I would be proud of. As I walked out down the marble stairs for the first time, I knew that this place and these people truly shaped me into the person that I wanted to be,” explains Julia.
After graduating from Roger Bacon, Julia attended Miami University, where she was a member of their graduating Class of 2022. She will be moving on to attend medical school at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. As Julia shares, “I can say confidently that I would not be in this position if it weren’t for my time at Roger Bacon!”
Julia looks forward to the challenges medical school will provide, and hopes to practice as a physician locally at Cincinnati Children's.
